Intelligent Quotient [IQ] Grows

Raise your IQ, It is not a constant

It was once thought that individuals are born with a set level of intelligence; however, with years of research, we now know that the human brain has the ability to change throughout our lifetime. Essentially, we have the capabilities to continually increase our knowledge, and I.Q., throughout our entire lives. I.Q., or intelligence quotient, is a comparison of our knowledge at a specific time in our lives to others around us at the same time. There are many different theories that promote the growth of I.Q. through participating in actions. Studies suggest that participating in lifelong education, having a mentally challenging career, and meditating are among others that are likely to increase intelligence quotient.

It is a proven fact that students who remain in school longer have a higher I.Q. Students who attend university after high school are further exposed to critical thinking questions, and are thusly exposed to more information as a result. Studies actually revealed that for every year a student participated in greater education, their I.Q. was raised by approximately three and a half points. Continuing education does not only imply a school education but music classes and art classes are also on the list. Picking up the guitar again, or the piano or any instrument once played in your childhood is shown to have great effects on your I.Q. as well. The same goes for an art class, as art lessons improve brain plasticity, fluid intelligence, IQ, and attention in both adults and children. Researchers also believe that exercise is correlated to a higher I.Q, when you exercise and attend that thirty-minute spin class, your brain plasticity is being enhanced and increasing your intelligence and creating larger brain volume.

Another factor that helps raise I.Q. is a mentally challenging career path. Having a career that requires complex relationships or difficult problem solving is shown to increase knowledge. If you are being forced to think quickly and on your feet every day while at work, it is only plausible that your brain is being worked out and growing with each day. A career that pushes you to think keeps you mentally strong and helps to grow your I.Q. Studies reveal that adults who participated in a mentally challenging job performed better on cognitive tests than those who held a less challenging job.

Meditation is also shown to enhance I.Q. in individuals. Meditation is shown to enhance memory, learning ability, and even problem-solving skills. Meditation is the action or practice of meditating through thought. Meditation is shown to make you more proficient in processing the information as it is the process of thought that helps to guide individuals through life. The growth of I.Q. in those who meditate is absolutely remarkable, as they actually experienced an increased 23% growth in their I.Q. Studies show that meditation improves intelligence.
