Advocate kids to develop empathy from a young age!
A child from a very young age observes his/her parents and adults around them. They have good observation skills; they tend to imitate what they observe around them. If a grown-up empathizes with a kid, it takes numerous forms which include tuning into their emotional needs, respecting individuals, and taking thoughtful interests in their careers and lives. Moreover, guiding and engaging them in such activities can reflect an understanding of the kind of human they are and the different things relish.
As parents, empathize with your kid. Pay attention to what he has to say, ask him about his feelings, and question him to show you’re interested. Studies have suggested that the capacity to empathize increases with social interaction. A socially interactive child can be more empathetic with others. However, it could also be natural in cases.
Parents can aid their children by allowing them to explore the roles and perspectives of others. Reading stories that teach morals and empathy can be one way. Teaching them to be sensitive towards their sibling and reach out to them to see if they need help, can help them to be more empathetic.
Engaging kids in community service and asking them to help the one in need would allow them to know why others can be in need and how good it can be to help others.
