How emotional intelligence adds to your kids' development?

Emotional intelligence is the skill to be the ability to understand others and your feelings. It involves the ability to notice, act and understand emotions effectively. The idea of EI was present among us for years now and it's high time it gets the attention needed. Emotional intelligence may not seem a vital part of a child’s career development. However, the belief is invalid. An emotional quotient in kids can aid them to build a better future with an empathic personality.

The concept of emotional quotient can be summoned in five parts-

  1. Self-regulation- is how one can respond to their emotions and can control them. They think before taking decisions on impulse.

  2. Self-awareness- when a kid is aware of how his moods can change and can affect others.

  3. Social skills- when people have an understanding of managing their relationship. They understand what kind of behavior would have a positive response.

  4. Empathy- the understanding behavior towards other people’s feelings

  5. Motivation- the path of achieving objectives without getting distracted by feelings

Now, imagine if your kid can be an emotionally intelligent person, the way he is perceived by others would be completely different. In today’s world being considerate adds to our professional skills and benefits the environment we work in.
