Selflessness- a crucial characteristic to nurture in kids!

Unfortunately, we live in a narcissistic world. It is all around us. Everybody is competing to succeed. This pressure is causing people to be selfish and less empathetic. As parents, it is significant that we stop this trend and instill selfless values in kids which may sound very contradictory to what society perceives of success but is beneficial in a long run.

To avoid Nurturing a narcissistic kid, parents must follow some rules. Firstly, teaching kids to say “no”. Simply giving in to the demands of the kid every time would teach them that they will always get their way through if they complain about it. Adults are aware of the fact that in real-life this is not true. Children should be taught that they cannot get away with whining and grinning all the time and they need to gratify their wants at times.

Secondly, teaching kids basic manners such as saying please, thank you, and excuse me. Children should be taught to value the efforts of others or else they will think that it is okay to be rude to others.

Thirdly, children should be taught to manage frustration. It is sometimes okay to get frustrated however parents need to teach their kids that they need to manage their emotions. All kids must learn that life is not always fair.

Hence, nurturing selfless kids is not beneficial for others around but for them as an individual. Therefore, to know more about how selflessness helps kids in life check LogiQminds now.
