The Negative Impact of Putting Too Much Pressure on Children to Make Parents Proud!

Parents naturally want to see their kids flourish and to be proud of them. But putting too much pressure on kids to live up to your standards can be harmful. While there are times when being stressed can be motivating, being under pressure all the time can cause stress, anxiety, and low self-esteem.

Children who feel under pressure to make their parents proud may also develop a fear of failure, which can hinder their ability to take risks and try new things. This could result in a lack of confidence and a reluctance to express themselves creatively

This feeling could also lead to depression and may result in suicidal thoughts in the worst of scenarios. Instead of trying to shape their children into a particular ideal, parents should encourage their kids to pursue their hobbies and passions. In addition, parents should encourage their kids when they succeed, no matter how big or tiny, and offer support and advice when they fail.

Every child is different and has their talents and weaknesses, which parents should bear in mind. Instead of concentrating solely on their children's shortcomings, parents should acknowledge and honor their children's virtues.

Finally, even though it makes sense for parents to want their kids to please them, it is unhealthy for kids to be perpetually under pressure to perform well. The main goal for parents should be to create a safe, encouraging atmosphere for their children to follow their hobbies and passions while also celebrating their accomplishments.
