Why do failures affect us so much?
When we work hard to achieve our dreams, failure shatters us. We feel like we have nothing to live for because we are unable to achieve our objectives. It wouldn’t be wrong to say that failure is always an upsetting and demoralizing experience.
However, we need to understand that we cannot foresee the bad things that may happen to us but we can control them to a large extent. Our behavior and the way we react to these problems are how we let those things affect us. Unless we train our minds to respond in psychologically adaptive ways, the failures will demotivate us and limit our growth.
The most significant thing to do after facing a failure is to understand how massive is the impact. If we understand the impacts before the results, it can make us mentally prepared for the worst and the best. Keeping oneself mentally prepared for any mishaps is the first step toward controlling failures and not letting them affect us.
The major reason that failure affects us is that in our heads we focus and expect our hard work to pay off. In addition, we focus on the positives that may happen to us and forget about the worse which is the other side of the coin.
Further, when it does not, we feel heartbroken and miserable.
In a general opinion, one should not expect success until he fails, because all the failures that come your way give you a lesson and make you a step close to your goals only if you are focused and never give up.
