Why can kids be shy in public?
Kids are often very expressive. They love to showcase what they feel or want. They can be vocal in public too. However, there are cases where kids can be very expressive with people, they are familiar with but are shy in public. They tend to be very comfortable with their parents and people they meet on regular basis and are good communicators too but in public, there’s something that makes them uncomfortable.
So, what is it that makes them uncomfortable in public? Why do they appear so confident among the people they know but are shy in public places? The answer is straight, fear of being judged. When we put our opinions across even as adults in public we do not know if it will have a positive response. Similarly, when kids are shy and uncomfortable in public, they are worried about how people are going to react. They think they would be laughed at or made fun of.
The most probable and common reason for kids to feel this way is their experiences. Especially, for young teens, the experiences come from peer encounters where they were made to feel that their opinions do not matter or are laughed at. This instills uncomfortableness and affects their zeal to communicate with people they do not know.
However, with public speaking training, kids can overcome their shyness and learn techniques
that can help them to ace the same. Check LogiQminds Public Speaking Course today.
